Sadie's lucky day!!!

Yesterday was one of those crazy days when everyone in the family had to be in several different places at the same time. Gary had to do pageant security at the temple grounds and he took Spencer with him. Mikaela had tournament games to be to in Ephraim, so Chelsea took her over. Jessica & I both had pageant dinners, so that left Sadie having to go with me. I had to take money and so that made it easy for Sadie to sit and help Grandma Maylett pass out plates. For an opening Thurs. night, it was extremely busy and we fed over 800 people...... needless to say we ran out of food and had to turn people away.
The highlight of the night was when Sister Cheryl C. Lant, the general primary president of the church, came to have dinner with our stake leaders. Sadie just happened to be standing by me when she came in with President & Jannie Hintze. Jannie grabbed Sadie and introduced her to Sister Lant. Sister Lant was so cute with her and asked her if she liked primary and told her how much she loved the primary children. As she was talking to her, I leaned over and explained to Sadie that Sister Lant is one of those people that we get to watch and listen to during General Conference when we watch church on TV. That's when her eyes lit up and she kind of understood how "neat" it was to meet her. Then Sister Lant asked Sadie if she knew why she got to talk on TV, and then explained to her that she was the "President" for all the primary children in the whole world. WOW!! How fun for Sadie!! Sister Lant's husband asked Sadie if her mom had a camera on her phone so that we could take a picture. Luckily I had my phone(it's a dinosaur), but it does take pictures. Before she was done, she asked Sadie if she could have a hug, and Sadie gladly gave her a hug.
What a lucky/great day for Sadie!

How special is that! And she's old enough that she'll probably always remember that!
