MHS Homecoming 2008

School got out early on Friday for the big parade down main street. Jessica rode on the band float. If you look really close, she is right in the middle playing her flute.
Chelsea rode with the volleyball team. They haven't had much of a winning season, but they sure have looked good in all their "apparel" that they have had to buy. $$$$$$$$$$

Chelsea really got into the spirit of things and painted her face for the big game. What a nerd!! But she had a good time. If you look in the back ground, you can see Gary in his "Manti red" shirt. He is such a great alumnus! Go Templars.

The pep band played lots of songs to get the crowd cheering through out the game. This is the fun part of band. Jessica and the freshmen thought this was the coolest thing since sliced bread. She had a great "first" homecoming. Manti did win the game 29-21(so Gary says) against North Summit.

Saturday was the homecoming dance. Chelsea had a date with Jacob Rasmussen from Ephraim. They started off the day going in the mountains on four wheelers, then came down and got cleaned up and went to Manti House Inn for dinner. Then they went to the dance and then to watch a movie. She had a great time and they went with a real good group of kids. She borrowed her dress from a friend and she looked darling in it. Can you believe she is old enough to go on dates??????????

Powder Puff

One of the highlights of homecoming was the Powder Puff game. Chelsea being a Jr. this year was able to participate. And get this......... she was the quarter back. All 5 feet 1 inch of her. She did a little passing, a lot of handing off, and a bunch of running the ball. She was #91. The Jr's ended up losing 6-12, but they played really good and it was really fun to watch!



Eventhough they weren't victorious, they came out with smiles.

"Little Blake"

Nate and Haylee finally got little Blake here on Sept. 23rd. We are so excited for them!!! He was 8lbs. 6oz. and all "cheeks". Too cute.

Here is a picture of Haylee when she was born next to a picture of Blake. It's fun to see if they look anything alike. You can be the judge.

School Days! Hooray!!!

This has always been the best time of the year! Going back to school is always way fun!!!! Soon the leaves will be changing colors and then the holidays are right around the corner. It doesn't get much better than this.

Sadie is in all day kindergarten this year! She is one of the "pacers" in her class. It seems so weird to have my "baby" in school. It's kind of bitter sweet to have her going to school all day. I wondered how she would do going from just a few days a week for a couple of hours, to going all day. The first day that I picked her up from school she said, "I'm not going back! That was too LONG!" Well she did go back and now she loves it. Her teacher is our neighbor Mrs. Jorgensen.

Spencer is in Mrs. Jensen's 2nd grade class. He loves it! He is the first one up in the morning to get the day going because he loves to go to school. I think he is just happy to be able to wear his new shoes that he thinks are pretty awesome. He says the best part of school is the math timings. We'll see how long that lasts.

Mikaela is in 5th grade this year. She was really hoping to get in Mrs. Coburn's class and her wish came true. She loves being the oldest in the school and is so good to help Spencer and Sadie to and from school. In her class the kids can get "money" by bringing aluminum cans. The get one dollar for each can. Mikaela went to the farm and rounded up a ton and is now the richest student in her class with $1,400.00. She thinks that is pretty fun...and really fun when it is "store" day.

Jessica is a freshman in high school this year. She thinks that high school is pretty fun already. She is in the pep band and the concert choir and has a couple of classes with mostly Sophmores. It's fun to get to see her at seminary every day. I can't believe that we have two in high school now, but it is nice not to have to worry about catching the bus in the morning.

Chelsea is a big junior. She is playing volleyball and is planning on playing basketball and softball. She wasn't planning on playing volleyball until the coach talked to her right before the second try-outs. So far she is loving it and gets lots of playing time. She has some hard classes that keep her busy with homework plus all of the practices and games during the week. She isn't home too often, but I guess that is what happens with a 16 year old.

So far the first year of having ALL the kids in school ALL day is going great. I get home from the seminary about one hour before the kids get home so it works out great. It is fun, when they get home, to see and hear what they have done all day at school.

Sadie turns 5!!!!

On Sadie's 5th birthday she was so excited
to open her presents(she didn't even take time to comb her hair)

When her friends came over for her party they
wore their princess dresses and made necklaces and bracelets

When she saw her dimonds she got she just stared at them!

and she said it was the best birthday she had ever had!!!!

Mikaela's Hair Studio

One Sunday Mikalea got Sadie to let her do her hair. (it wasn't easy)
mikaela let her do it for free because it was so hard to get her to let mikaela do it!

for her hair sadie wanted to do a spider weg like the day before
mikaela desided to try it all the way aroud he head for a change


it took 1hour too get it done including the breaks Sadie took.
while we were doing it I didn't think it would turn out so good.

it was hard work getting sadie to hold still but she finaly settled down.
so i could do her hair .

In the end as you can see it turned out pretty good
(i charge $3.00 per person)

"USA" May Festival

Mikaela & Spencer could hardly wait until May Day. It is one of the funnest days of the whole school year. Each class did a dance to celebrate the USA and honor the troops that had been serving from our area. It was a real neat program!

Mikaela was all smiles while she was doing her dance. She loves to perform! Her clogging skills came in handy for this performance!

Spencer could hardly wait for us to see his class dance. He wouldn't tell us what they were doing because he wanted it to be a suprise. He did a great job being one of the group leaders.

It's fun to have lots of cousins to take pictures of and with.

Sadie Graduates!!!!

Sadie graduated from "The Crayon Academy"! She was so excited to get a graduation cap and wear her favorite dress!

This is just some of the kids in her class. It was mostly a class full of girls. Only a couple of boys.

As soon as we got home from graduation, Sadie wanted her picture taken.

"Not yet out of the jungle"

Jessica graduated from Ephraim Middle School this last week. Their theme was "Not yet out of the Jungle". (They have no idea). Jessica received several awards from different classes and academic awards also. She got a 4.0 every single quarter this year. Way to go Jess!

Jessica and her dad danced one dance. I'm sure it was the most embarrasing thing that has ever happened to Jessica!!!!

These girls are happy to be going to high school. They can't wait to be freshmen! It seems like just yesterday that it was me who was excited to be going to high school. How time flies!!!!

1st tournament blue's

Mikaela's first accelerated tournament ever. She was very NERVOUS!!!!

Mikaela played 3rd base and left field.

Her team went 0-4. Not a great showing, but they should end up being pretty good.

Chelsea is helping out with the team. When she coached 3rd base, they made her wear a helmet because she isn't 18. Everyone got a good laugh out of that.

The weather in St. George was really nice and the kids had a great time playing in the pool and running around getting dirty. We love going to St. George in the spring time when the weather is just right!
